crashrose and I meant to leave for Pittsburgh around 7-ish, but as you can see, we're still here posting things online. I think I'll leave the in-depth description of our delay to Kate and her post, but suffice it to say, we're being screwed by the new apartment people already.
To top that off, I'm kind of screwing over the old apartment people by not being there by now. The guy who rented my place wants to see it (I think that's fair), and the old landlord wants to do a walk-through with me when my crap is out of there. He said he'd cut me a check for my security deposit on the spot.
Doesn't look like I'm going to have all my crap out of there any time soon, though. *sigh* The plan (and I believe it was plan C or so) was to get everything out this weekend. That would've been great for everyone: me, Kate, old landlord, new tennant, and my bank account. Unfortunately, it's not going to happen.
You see, I own far, far too much crap. Even though all my furniture is gone, I have too many bags, boxes, and bins to fit in Katie's lovely Civic, Angie. We tried and failed to borrow a few trucks, and we failed to rent a truck in time.
Consider this an impassioned plea to any and all Pittsburgh drivers reading: If you have this weekend free, pretty please help me cart some of my stuff back to New Jersey? All I have to offer in return is a bit of free food, some beer, and an old couch or air mattress to sleep on while you're here in our messy new place, but if you want, I'll throw in being your best-est friend.
Otherwise, I guess I'll be seeing Pittsburgh again sooner than I had anticipated.
