Wasabi (again)

Last night, crashrose and I went to Wasabi, our local sushi nirvana. Our goal was not to spend $150 again ... we narrowly met this goal. The waitress asked where 1_dumb_mick was and teased us for eating more than he ate the last time. She recommended this ebi shrimp thing to me. It arrived with the deep-fried heads staring up at me. They had been cut off and propped up. Somewhat disheartening. The shrimp itself may or may not have been raw. The texture was certainly different. I thanked her for her suggestion because I like that sort of thing, but I doubt I'll have that particular dish again. They had a couple of new dishes, which we had to try. crashrose had the Seven Element White Tuna something-or-other; I had the Tuna Naruto. I'm still tasting garlic this morning because I can never avoid the allure of the gyuniku tataki. Our server told her manager that we're good customers, so we got free dessert. It was the neatest thing, too. Some kind of ice cream with, like, a gummy, floured version of that same ice cream coating the outside. When it arrived, it almost looked like a sugared apricot, plum, and green fruit of similar size, each halved. I think it was actually mango, red bean, and green tea ice cream done up in some Japanese style. I can't remember what the server called it... I think it started with an M... Anyway, it was really cool. :)

ETA: It's mochi ice cream. Also, if you like eel, the Green River Maki is awesome! :) That is all.

Yesterday, I was going to post about cookie day, but momtastic has done such a good job of it that I don't think I'll bother. It was fun, but I still think momtastic and my aunt are a little crazy. I'll have to post a picture of the cookie table, so you can decide for yourselves.

Today is my last day of work this week. Woohoo! :) I'm pretty darned excited, but I'm pretty darned tired, too. I hear read that saintdani is done with school for the semester... Perhaps I'll knock on her door and ask her to come out and play. :)
